How Stablecoin-Settled Long and Short Crypto Trading Works

Quote.Trade uses supported stablecoins as collateral for long and short positions. You do not buy or receive the underlying token. Profit or loss is applied to your supported stablecoin balance when the position closes.

How pricing and funding are shown

Prices and order values are shown in USD. The payment currency is the supported stablecoin used by the account, such as USDC or USDT. The funding network is the blockchain used to deposit that stablecoin. Check the live app for the available currency, minimum amount, and leverage.

Step-by-step

Fund with a supported stablecoin

Deposit a supported stablecoin such as USDC or USDT. That balance is used as collateral for your positions. You do not need to buy the underlying token, and the underlying token is not delivered to your wallet.

Choose Buy or Sell Short

Choose Buy for long exposure or Sell Short for short exposure. Your result depends on the opening price, closing price, position size, funding, and any risk events.

Choose direction in the order form after selecting the market and entering quantity. The live prices shown on the buttons will change.

Understand how leverage changes risk

Leverage increases the position size relative to your collateral, so it increases both gains and losses. Use only the leverage available for the market and account, and keep it off when you do not need it.

Watch margin, liquidation risk, and ADL

Initial margin is required to open a position, and maintenance margin is required to keep it open. If losses reduce available margin too far, the position can be liquidated. ADL is an additional emergency backstop described in the platform rules.

Quote.Trade Risk Info panel with low-to-high risk scale
Use the Risk Info panel as a live account-risk check; it is not a substitute for position sizing and collateral limits.

Close the position and settle in stablecoin

When you close the position, realized profit or loss and any funding adjustments are applied to the stablecoin account. The resulting account balance is not necessarily the same as the amount immediately available to withdraw because open positions and orders can still reserve margin.

Troubleshooting

Common problems and fixes

Will I receive the underlying token in my wallet?

No. Quote.Trade provides long or short market exposure that settles in supported stablecoins. It is not a spot token purchase, and the underlying token is not delivered to your wallet.

Buying power is lower than the deposit

Review margin, positions, open orders, P&L, and current account rules.

A position loses value despite the asset being unchanged

Inspect execution price, bid/ask, funding, mark updates, and account adjustments.
